About Mayflower II

The ship is a full-scale reproduction of the vessel that carried the Pilgrims in 1620. Builders constructed it in Devon, England, between 1955 and 1957. It crossed the Atlantic under sail in 1957.

Today, it serves as a floating museum operated by Plimoth Patuxet Museums. You can explore the Main Deck, the 'Tween Decks, and the Half Deck. Read our Mayflower II vs Original guide for authenticity details.

Costumed interpreters answer questions in character as 1620s passengers. Check Best Footwear before you visit, as the wooden decks get slippery.

It’s a great transportation arrangement and includes both the Plymouth Patuxet museum and the Mayflower II. First was a commuter train where the conductor is familiar with and then a personal driver around Plymouth once you get off the train. Best part there’s no lines to enter either of the museums. I had a great time.

We loved it. Very well organized. We had 4 people in our party and we love the golf cart ride. It was heaven sent.

The associates on the Mayflower ll had little customer service skills. We were unable to ask questions. The associates seemed to be preoccupied with I dont know what but it was not the people visiting. It appeared like they just couldnt wait for the 5°clock whistle to blow. AND there were not many people aboard.

The information was well presented and detailed enough to give a good understanding of the events. It was nice that the narrator filled in history while walking to each subsequent location. For some reason the app stopped every time we passed the John Carver Inn and we had to restart it, it happened on both phones we were using. Not a big deal, just info for the tech team.
